Homework: Most nights your student will have math homework. They are not to spend more than 30 minutes working it. If there are questions on how to do the work it will be reviewed the next day in class. I do not want any student being frustrated or upset because they are confused on how to do the work. If you have questions or concerns about this policy please let me know. Thank you.
We will be doing a combination of Eureka Math and Math Projects throughout the year. Within class, there will be daily instruction and activities, with possible time to start their nightly Eureka Math assignment. Students will have nightly Eureka Math homework to do. Students will need a math journal or binder where all math notes will be taken and kept. They will be able to use this journal/binder on their math tests. Within those notebooks/binders students will be doing daily warm-ups, which will be checked weekly.
There will also be a Weekly Math Challenge Question that will be posted on Mondays and discussed on Thursdays. These will also be done in the student notebooks/binders and check on Thursdays for completion.
Grading Scale:
50% Math Projects
30% Participation (challenge question, warm-ups, homework)
20% Math Tests
